The story of Nature Together
It started with a hike.
Years ago in Hawaii, Summer joined a volunteer hiking group looking for something to do outside with her kids. What she found was a community. Mom friends who kept showing up. Kids who ran ahead on the trail and came back muddy and laughing with new best friends. Nothing complicated about it. Just a trail, a time to meet, and people who came back.
That stuck with her.
We built it as a family.
Summer talked about Nature Together for years before it existed, usually out loud, usually while hiking. Josh heard about it long enough that eventually the only option was to build it.
So we did. Josh and Summer, married co-founders, with our three kids growing up on the trails right alongside the groups we serve. They're usually somewhere in the middle of the pack, and that's the point. This is the thing we wanted for our own family, so we're building it for yours too.
Tennessee is already beautiful. Now let's make it accessible.
We have trails, parks, greenways, creeks, and open spaces all over this state. Places our communities already own.
The barrier is almost never the land. It's transportation, cost, childcare, mobility, safety, or simply not knowing anyone who's going. Wondering if a place like that is really meant for you.
That's the gap we close. Every program is free, guided, and built with a specific community in mind, so showing up feels easy and belonging isn't a question.
